Shinjuku City's ward festival: stalls, woodworking, regional specialty sales and a mini steam train across 8 plazas, plus Totsuka hayashi music, the Teppo-gumi Hyakunin-tai musket ceremony, taiko and dance on 3 stages. Headdress making and a bread-eating race are free (numbered tickets). Held in rain, cancelled in storms.
