Summarized from the official page and press materials.

What kind of creature is Roar, the basketball mascot?

Roar is the Kawasaki Brave Thunders mascot, imagined as a young thunder beast that accidentally fell from the sky into Kawasaki. His name comes from an English word associated with a rumbling sound. His birthday is unknown, but he arrived on Earth on July 1. With lightning-shaped paw pads and a love of basketball, he is an unusual little creature.

Roar was announced as the club's new mascot in September 2018. His predecessor, Bravy, was said to have left Kawasaki to play in the Thunder League, a basketball league in the sky. According to Roar's backstory, he became fascinated by humans bouncing a ball that resembled his own curled-up body, and decided to stay in Kawasaki.

For Christmas 2026, five Roar panels are hidden across the shopping center, and visitors can also meet the mascot at a photo session. Knowing his thunder-beast origins adds another layer to the search. Take a close look at his distinctive lightning-shaped paw pads.
