About this event

A 1.4-kilometer stretch beneath the Sotetsu railway tracks becomes a neighborhood festival spanning four zones between Hoshikawa and Tennōchō stations. The fourth Hoshiten qlay Fes, themed around growing and playing, turns the railway redevelopment into connected performance and activity spaces. Zone B hosts Hoshiten STAGE, where local businesses and community groups present special programs. In Zone C, Park Marche brings a local hero show and bubble performances to a grassy public space. Zone D opens a window onto life at YADORESI, a residential project where occupants organize talks and a neighborhood cultural festival using the windows outside their private rooms. Zone E becomes Hoshiten LIVE Street, with children's dance performances, adult musicians and a collaborative finale. Visitors can also complete Hoshiten Quest, a challenge that leads through the different zones and rewards successful participants with a prize. The festival combines neighborhood discovery with performances beneath an active railway corridor.

How did the space beneath a railway become a cultural neighborhood?

Hoshiten qlay occupies approximately 1.4 kilometers of land created beneath the elevated Sotetsu Main Line between Hoshikawa and Tennōchō stations. The project divides the former railway-level space into five development zones containing shops, restaurants, residences, coworking facilities and community spaces. Its concept focuses on connecting people who embrace change. The festival has taken place annually since the B, C and D zones opened in 2023, providing an opportunity for local businesses and residents to introduce their activities.

The development received a 2025 Good Design Award for its approach to the long railway corridor and the different needs of its surrounding neighborhoods. YADORESI, the residential component, is especially unusual because its residents participate in public cultural programming. This year's festival links performances, food-related activities, residential events and a quest rally across four zones. So explore the entire corridor rather than remaining near one station; the different sections are deliberately programmed to offer different experiences.
